Directions to Sedona

If you are joining us from another state, first of all, thank you, second of all, we recommend that you book your flight from your home to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and enjoy a beautiful and easy 1.5-hour drive from Phoenix to Sedona via Interstate 17. We’ve saved the directions here for you. Sedona does have an airport (SEZ), however, flights are restricted to private charter flights. If you do find it easier to fly into Sedona Airport, you may charter flights from Signature Flight Support at Scottsdale Airport or Cutter Aviation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

You may also be interested in staying about 30 miles north of Sedona in the beautiful city of Flagstaff, Arizona. Flagstaff can often have better prices on hotels than Sedona and is a little bit bigger city. Plus the drive from Flagstaff to Sedona via the AZ-89A highway is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! (just be careful on the twists and turns!)

Pro-tip: Brian, our resident pilot, highly recommends that you book all flights at least 6 months in advance to save time and money! American Airlines, Southwest, and United all use Sky Harbor as a hub so there are plenty of flights in and out at various times of the day!

We strongly recommend that our out-of-state guests arrive by Friday, April 28th and stay until Sunday, April 30th to ensure that they have plenty of time to enjoy Sedona and not feel rushed with everything. Traffic from Phoenix to Sedona can get pretty heavy on Friday evenings, so we recommend a mid-morning or mid-afternoon arrival.

In-State Guests

Those of you joining us from the Phoenix valley, we recommend driving to Sedona via I-17. If you have not been to Sedona before (we really frown upon you for that), Sedona is an easy 1.5-hour drive from anywhere in the Phoenix metro area. We recommend that you arrive by the morning of Saturday, April 29th at the latest and book an overnight stay at one of the awesome hotels in the area for the night. We really don’t want you driving home late at night from Sedona!
